You've been creating your own graphics through Canva or Pinterest. You know your style and how you want your visual brand to look. And yet, you aren't satisfied with the quality of your graphics. Your visual brand feels scattered. Or dated. Or just... off. But you can't quite put your finger on what's not working. Maybe you're just tired of looking at all of it.
Or maybe you have a designer, and you're not quite sure how to articulate what you need.
You have questions:
Does my website clearly communicate what I do in 3–5 seconds?
Do my social media graphics match my website energy?
Is my brand too busy? Too simple? Too chaotic?
Should I redesign my logo or just refresh what I have?
Am I using too many fonts? Too many colors?
Founders, entrepreneurs, and business owners creating their own graphics through Canva, templates, or Pinterest inspiration
People who have a designer but aren't sure what to ask for or how to articulate what's not working
Anyone who feels their visual brand is scattered, dated, or misaligned with who they actually are
Brick-and-mortar stores, product creators, and service providers who want professional eyes on their visuals
People tired of asking friends and family for feedback (who aren't designers and they end up confusing you more)
Anyone who wants reassurance, clarity, and specific next steps from a real professional

That's where Designer in Your Pocket comes in.
I'm a professional conceptual graphic designer with a BFA and 45+ years of experience. I was trained to solve problems visually. I worked in San Francisco for five years, as an editor/designer at Communication Arts magazine for fifteen years, and with my own clients for 25+ years.
But more than that, I have a unique gift: I can read the energy of your visual brand.
I see what's working, what's not, and why. I see the gap between who you actually are and what you're projecting. I see what you're unconsciously communicating through your color choices, typography, image selection, and visual chaos (or clarity).
In 30 minutes on Zoom, I'll review your website, social media, newsletter, or any visual materials you want feedback on.
This is NOT a design consultation. I'm not trying to sell you my design services.
I'm not looking for design projects. I create Muse Boards. That's my work.
This is me offering my professional expertise to support you, build your confidence, and help you trust yourself when it comes to your visual brand.
Think of it as having a Designer-in-Your-Pocket for 30 minutes.
Before Our Call:
You'll fill out a brief questionnaire, with space to ask your own questions as well, and send me links to your website, social media accounts, newsletter, or any visual materials you want me to review.
During Our 30-Minute Zoom Session:
We can go over your questions and thought on how you want your visual brand to work for you AND your clients. I'll share my screen and walk through your visuals with you in real time, addressing:
First Impression: Can someone determine what you do and who you are in 3-5 seconds?
Visual Cohesion: Do your website, social media, and other materials feel like they belong to the same brand?
Energy Reading: What are your visuals unconsciously communicating? Where's the gap between your essence and your projection?
Specific Elements: Color palette, typography choices, image selection, layout, movement, "above the fold" content.
What's Working: I'll tell you what to keep, what's strong, and what's already aligned.
What's Not Working: Too busy? Too much movement? Too many fonts? Colors fighting each other? Confusing messaging?
Next Steps: Specific, actionable guidance on what to shift, simplify, or refine.
You can ask me questions in real time. This is a conversation, not a lecture.
After Our Call: You'll have clarity, confidence, and direction. Plus, you'll get one follow-up email if something comes up after you've had time to digest what we explored together.

I LOVE what you offered here. I think I was expecting a few short thoughts and you gave me more of what I actually want and need.
— Shelley H.
This is not a design consultation where I'm trying to sell you a rebrand.
I'm not providing design files or redesigning anything for you.
I'm not asking you to send me your logo files or brand assets.
This is not a full brand strategy session.
This is me, a professional designer, championing YOU. I'm reviewing your current visuals and what they are communicating and providing professional guidance on how to make your visual brand become the best expression of you.
Pre-session questionnaire
30-minute live Zoom call reviewing your visuals
Real-time Q&A
Specific next steps and actionable guidance
One follow-up email to ask additional questions

That's fine! During the pre-session questionnaire, you can tell me what's bothering you or what questions you have. I'll look at everything with fresh eyes and show you what I'm seeing.
Nope. I'll guide the session. But if you do have specific questions (like the ones at the top of this page), definitely include them in your questionnaire so I can focus on what matters most to you.
Perfect! This can help you articulate what you need from them. I'll give you language and specific direction you can take to your designer.
Probably not. I'll tell you the truth about what I'm seeing. Most of the time, you'll just to do some tweaks to your design. This is purely about giving you clarity and a chance to explore some ideas.
It can, if that feels right to you. Often, visual brand confusion comes from not having clarity on your business essence. A Muse Board can create that clarity beautifully. But again, no pressure. This session stands on its own.
SOME kind WORDS
Talking through my book cover photo with Stephanie was helpful. She didn’t tell me what to choose—she listened, reflected back what she was seeing, and helped me trust what I already knew. By the end, I felt clear, confident, and aligned with the image I chose. It felt like permission to stand in the version of myself I actually want out in the world.
I met with Stephanie when I was shifting my URL from my company name to my name. I thought I would need a new logo. As we spoke and reviewed my site, the surprising conclusion was very simple. I didn’t need a new logo. Though I changed other messaging and elements, this was the simplest upgrade to rebranding ever!
