Mission

If I had a super-power, it would probably be “Beauty-Creator.” Just give me a blank sheet of paper, a random piece of fabric, an overgrown garden… and let me do my thing.

As a kid, I was very crafty. In fact, the main reason I survived high school was that I had ceramics class as my escape. Because I was also into clothes, I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer, but life choices didn’t allow me the ability to move to New York.

So I chose another path—and the catalog for the California College of Arts & Crafts was just so beautiful. While I learned pretty quickly that interior designers weren’t my tribe, the CCAC path did lead me to a fateful summer internship.

I spent a few months in the graphic design department of a big San Francisco engineering firm, doing paste-up (for those of you born after 1980, you’ll need to look up that word).

I felt like I had slipped into a gorgeous and perfectly fitted pair of shoes.

When I told my mother about this job, she said, “Of course you love it. You’ve been becoming a graphic designer all your life.”

(She also reminded me of the time when I was two years old and demanded that she never wear “that ugly brown dress” again. Beauty creator, remember?)

Over the next 30 years, my days were filled with creating beauty…

Designing magazines, brochures, books, logos, and websites.
Sewing costumes for dozens of school plays.
Teaching design to high-school students.
Helping start-ups launch.
Rebranding established companies.

I solved problems. I saw businesses through the clients’ eyes. I taught people what design means and what it can do. But design without a connection to who someone truly was started to become meaningless to me.

So, three years ago, I began my own long, deep dive into the essence of ME. The essence of my work. I explored how I wanted to show up and how I wanted to serve.

And everything changed.

I believe in the missions of each and every unique and talented person I work with—and I believe with all my heart in the simple, clear power of beauty to help them uplift and transform the world in their own very special way.

Enter the Muse Board™.

Today, through my unique Muse Board™ process, I help visionary entrepreneurs and others rediscover who they truly are, and reflect that in the visual essence of their lives and businesses. Graphic design is still my primary love, and creating a Muse Board™ is simply the first and vital step we take before that happens.

I believe in the missions of each and every unique and talented person I work with—and I believe with all my heart in the simple, clear power of beauty to help them uplift and transform the world in their own very special way.

I blend my “old-school” ways with technology as I work with you to create powerful, modern, beautiful designs that fully represent the essence of YOU… so that you can step into—and rise up to—who you truly are.
