Everyone’s an expert in something, but sometimes when we’re called on to share our expertise, we blank. It happens to the best of us.
I’ve been writing a book on my area of expertise: the intersection of design and healing. To help me kick off my writing journey, I joined a workshop. Every morning we’d share with each other what we wanted to write that day, and we’d be able to talk with our writing coach if we were struggling with our ideas. One day, I had a particularly stubborn case of writer’s block—again, it happens to the best of us—so I asked my coach how I could get past it.
She prompted me with this: “Spend five minutes and write down the things you know for sure.”
And so, without further ado, here are the things that I know for sure.
I know for sure that everyone is unique. Every one of us has something to say, and all those things have equal value. I know that my vision is valuable. My perception, my take on life is unique to me—just as yours is unique to you. We all might agree on many points, but every one of our perspectives has a different yet equal value.
I know the power of beauty and simplicity. I know that I have the ability to do pretty much anything I set my mind to do. My creativity is endless and has never let me down. Sometimes I doubt myself, but just as the sun comes up every morning, my creative muse eventually shows herself to me.
I know for sure that my book will bring an awareness to the healing energy of design.
I know for sure that the Muse Method™ will combine the healing energy of design with the power of visibility.
I know for sure that the combination of good design, beauty, and the awareness of energy is so necessary for women to step into their true selves.
Let me emphasize that again: I know for sure that the combination of good design, beauty, and the awareness of energy is absolutely necessary for women to step into their true selves.
I know for sure that design has power. Design persuades. Design informs. I know for sure that design has a healing energy. Good design affects and directs people. Beauty in design is valuable, because beauty has its own power. When we combine our energy with good and beautiful design, we become visible to our clients directly. Good design creates less confusion. Good design allows for deeper knowing. A knowing that it is right for you and that the right people will see you.
I want the way we approach design and branding to change. We need a more holistic approach to branding. People are so ready for this new way of thinking about their brands, and as a Muse, I’m ready to help them actualize it.
The Muse Method™ helps women discover their true power. Power to be seen. When a woman steps into her essence, when she remembers who she is and can see herself fully represented in a visual way—that is true power! When I lead someone through the Muse Method™, they receive an anchor, a touchstone, that visually reminds them of who they are and what they want to become.
Now that I’ve shared some of my wisdom with you, I’m hoping to hear some of yours. What are the things that you know for sure? Share with me in the comments; I’d love to know.
